Team Jersey Giveaway And Practice Schedule (Week of 4/12)

Lake County RFC will host practice this week on Tuesday, April 13th and Thursday, April 15th. Both sessions will begin at 7 PM. Practice will take place at Hutchins Athletic Field, 36753 N. Hutchins Rd. in Gurnee. Please take a look at the following rules as we make our safe return to the sport we love.

1. WEAR A MASK. No mask means no practice. Mask must be looped around ears. NO BANDANAS OR NECK GAITERS.
2. Register with USA Rugby. Team name is “Lake County Rugby Club” and set your membership type as “Senior Player (Training).”
3. Complete World Rugby COVID Player Module.
4. Each practice, club administrators will conduct a symptom check and a temperature check as soon as you arrive. This will be done via Google Forms.

The team is also doing a jersey giveaway! What better way to support your local rugby club than wearing the same gear worn on gamedays? All you have to do is share a Facebook post to enter. Take a look at our Facebook page for more information.

Spring 2021 Practice Schedule

CARFU Return-To-Play Survey

With an unprecedented season on our way, Chicago Area Rugby Football Union (CARFU) is asking all its member for feedback. This two minute survey will help CARFU gauge the community on its thoughts regarding COVID-19 and the safe return to the sport we love. We ask for all our current players and potential recruits to fill out the survey. Even if you are planning on opting out of the season, we still ask for that feedback. We’re hoping that everyone is staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. With the state of Illinois slowly opening back up, we’d like to turn towards 2021 in hopes that we will be playing soon. Our board for the upcoming year is set. Practice Week of 7/6

Lake County RFC successfully concluded its first week of limited contact practice. We are scheduled for practice Tuesday, July 7th and Thursday, July 9th at 7 PM. Practice will be held at Hutchins Athletic Field, 36753 N. Hutchins Rd. in Gurnee. While we're on the right path towards matches, we as a team are still taking great precautions for all participants. The team takes temperatures as well as doing a routine wellness check of each player before practice, as outlined by the USA Rugby's Return to Play guidelines.

The health and safety of our players, coaches, and fans alike are of the upmost importance to us. In order to participate at practice, players must complete World Rugby's Player Welfare Awareness Course. Players who do not complete the course will not be able to participate in team activities. We're also continuing to work with CARFU as well as USA Rugby in order to keep up with the latest on developments in regards to matches, practices, and all other aspects affected by the COVID situation.

Lake County RFC successfully concluded its first week of practice. We were happy to see so many new and old faces, as we're slowly returning to the game. This week, Chicago Area Rugby Football Union has announced that we have been cleared for limited contact practice, as outlined in USA Rugby's Return to Play guidelines. We are scheduled for practice Tuesday, June 30th and Thursday, July 2nd at 7 PM. Practice will be held at Hutchins Athletic Field, 36753 N. Hutchins Rd. in Gurnee.

COVID-19 Update: Practice Restart Finalized

On behalf of the Lake County Rugby Club, all of our players, coaches, and fans, I'd like to thank everyone who have been patient with us these last few months. We hope you've been staying safe in these trying times. We're happy to announce that Chicago Area Rugby Football Union has given us the green light to restart practices! Our first week of practice begins this week. Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 PM. Our first session is on June 23rd. Due to the state of Illinois' current restrictions, we will be holding non-contact practices until further notice.
