Join Us At The 2022 Winter Social

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our fans and players! With 2021 coming to an end, we'd like to extend an invitation for our annual Winter Social. It's a time for all of us to come together, and celebrate team and individual accomplishments throughout the season; as well as presenting the upcoming Spring season and beyond. With our first in-person celebration since January 2020, this will be a special occasion. Our 2022 Winter Social is on January 15th at 3 PM. The event will take place at Tighthead Brewing Company.

It's a great opportunity for current members to get together, but it's a wonderful opportunity for prospective players to meet the current board members, players, and coaches. While the event itself is free, we encourage any attendees for a small donation to the club.

Season Finale at Chicago Blaze - 10/23/2021

This upcoming Saturday, Lake County RFC will be traveling to Lemont to take on the Chicago Blaze in the final match of the season! Kick-off is set for 2 PM, with the social to follow at the Blaze clubhouse. The pitch is located at 13011 W. Smith Road in Lemont. You can find the map via the link here.

Final Home Game This Saturday - 10/16/2021

Join us this Saturday, October 16th, for our final home match of the Fall season! Lake County RFC will be hosting Chicago Riot at Hutchins Athletic Field. The club sponsor, Tighthead Brewing Company, will be on the scene with their coveted beer truck! Kick-off is set for 1 PM with a social at the pitch following the match.

Away Match Versus Northwest Indiana - 10/9/2021

This upcoming weekend, Lake County RFC is back on the road! We will be crossing state lines to Hobart, IN as we take on the Northwest Indiana Reapers. Match will be played at Riverside Park, 1245 River Dr. Hammond, IN. Kick-off is set for 1 PM. Lake County is coming off a tough lost against Peoria, and are looking to get back on track this Saturday! Come cheer us on!

Home Match Against Peoria Pigs - 10/2/2021

Lake County RFC suffered a tough loss against Fox Valley Maori this past weekend. We will look to bounce back this upcoming weekend as LCRFC host Peoria Pigs. Kick-off is set for 1 PM over at Hutchins Athletic Field, 36753 N. Hutchins Rd in Gurnee. The social will be held at the pitch following the game. Join us for a fun day of rugby, food, and beer!

This Saturday evening, catch the rugby team at Lindenfest! After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual summer celebration is back. Come out Saturday night for live bands, lots of food and beverages, and carnival rides. LCRFC is honored to be invited once again to join the celebrations this weekend. The team will be running the bingo tent starting at 9 PM. Come play some bingo and meet the team!

On The Road Against Fox Valley Maori - 9/25/21

Lake County RFC is coming off a bye week after our match against Rockford Ravens was postponed. This Saturday, we hit the road for the first time this season. LC travels to St. Charles to take on the Fox Valley Maori! Game will be held at James O. Breen Community Park. We currently have no word on confirmed kick-off time, but we'll send an update as more information comes in.

ROCKFORD MATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED - 9/18/21

We regret to inform our fans that the scheduled match against the Rockford Ravens this upcoming Saturday has been cancelled. The team will look to reschedule the match in the near future. Lake County RFC is out of action this weekend. Please stay tuned for more information regarding the rescheduled date. Next weekend, we're set to hit the road as we take on the Fox Valley Maori on the 25th! More information to come soon.

LCRFC To Host Rockford Ravens - 9/14/2021

Lake County RFC opened up the season with an 18-7 victory at home against the Northwest Woodsmen! This week, we're hosting the Rockford Ravens. The game is set for Saturday, September 18th at 1 PM. Come out to Hutchins Athletic Field for some rugby! The social will be held at the pitch following the match. Food and beverages will be provided for all players and spectators alike!

It's finally game week! Come out to Hutchins Athletic Field this Saturday as we open our season at home against the Northwest Woodsmen! Kickoff is set for 1 PM, with a social to follow at the pitch. Food and beer will be served for all the players and spectators. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we invite all attendees for a moment of silence before the game.

Fall 2021 Schedule

For the first time in almost two years, Lake County Rugby is back with a full schedule. Our Fall 2021 season kicks off September 11th as we host our nearby neighbors, the Northwest Woodsmen. The club is also looking to fill a few weeks in August for preseason matches. Feel free to reach out if your team is interested!

COVID-19 Update And Summer Practices

With the state of Illinois moving into Phase 5 of Restore Illinois, new sports safety guidelines have been released. Please take a look at the new guidelines. The board and coaches of Lake County RFC is working closely with CARFU to create and approve a new Return-To-Play plan that would allow the team to practice without any restrictions. Team Jersey Giveaway And Practice Schedule (Week of 4/12)

Lake County RFC will host practice this week on Tuesday, April 13th and Thursday, April 15th. Both sessions will begin at 7 PM. Practice will take place at Hutchins Athletic Field, 36753 N. Hutchins Rd. in Gurnee. Please take a look at the following rules as we make our safe return to the sport we love.

1. WEAR A MASK. No mask means no practice. Mask must be looped around ears. NO BANDANAS OR NECK GAITERS.
2. Register with USA Rugby. Team name is “Lake County Rugby Club” and set your membership type as “Senior Player (Training).”
3. Complete World Rugby COVID Player Module.
4. Each practice, club administrators will conduct a symptom check and a temperature check as soon as you arrive. This will be done via Google Forms.

The team is also doing a jersey giveaway! What better way to support your local rugby club than wearing the same gear worn on gamedays? All you have to do is share a Facebook post to enter. Take a look at our Facebook page for more information.

CARFU Return-To-Play Survey

With an unprecedented season on our way, Chicago Area Rugby Football Union (CARFU) is asking all its member for feedback. This two minute survey will help CARFU gauge the community on its thoughts regarding COVID-19 and the safe return to the sport we love. We ask for all our current players and potential recruits to fill out the survey. Even if you are planning on opting out of the season, we still ask for that feedback.
