For the first time in several years Lake County Rugby are heading into the playoffs.
Playoff Week! Lake County will host a first round playoff match this Saturday at Grandwood Park,1pm kickoff with social to follow at The In-Laws Restaurant. We need a huge turnout to support as the men make their first playoff appearance in several years. Let's Go LC!

We were privileged to be involved in the 2013 Gurnee Days Parade. We had the opportunity to let our local communities know that we exist and also got to represent the local businesses who back us. We had a very positive response from everyone...very few if any had any idea we existed.

In other news our fall season practices are about to begin...August 6th we begin our fall push to win our division. We are also actively recruiting men interested in trying this sport we have grown to love, RUGBY! We practice every Tuesday and Thursday night 7pm-9pm at Grandwoods Park in Gurnee IL, starting August 6th 2013!! No experience necessary...we will teach it all to you. Spring season is over and we ended it on a high note. We played as a complete unit and handed the Peoria Pigs a loss. We thank them for a great clean game with minimal penalties on either side of the ball. We had a Zulu warrior and was also handed man of the match...good job Gnome.

Onto the next phase...we will be putting together a Summer 7's team. We are registered in three tournaments:

Game one is in the books and we walked away with the victory 24-11. Iliana came at us hard but we stepped up when we needed to, coming back from a deficit in the second half. Thank you to Iliana for making the trip and a big pat on the back to the new guys who took the pitch for the first time.
We head back into practices as we prepare for our next opponents the Bloomington Crash this coming Saturday. Lets keep this going...

No experience needed all we want from you is a willingness to learn and push yourself. Come out to any of our practices on Tuesday or Thursday nights 7pm-9pm at Grandwood Park.
Things to bring...workout clothes, cleats, water, and willingness to learn and work hard...it all pays off in the end.

Tomorrow, Saturday March 16th, we are meeting at our home bar, which is Inlaws, to watch some rugby...six nations at Noon. Hope to see you all there.

Gents: PRACTICE UPDATE- due to a scheduling conflict with the Elementary this Thursday, we are moving our first practice to Tuesday, Feb 12th, same time, same place....It would have been Feb 14th (Valentines Day), but starting a spring season in hot water with the wife/girlfriend/significant other is not the way go. After next week, we will begin regularly scheduled Thursday practices (Feb 21st and following)
IT'S OFFICIAL!: Spring rugby practice starts next week, Thursday Feb 7th, 7pm-9pm at Shabonee Elementary,1000 Pfingsten Road Northbrook, IL 60062.
For this practice, club members will need tennis/basketball shoes (no cleats needed). I know Northbrook is a hike for some but the gym space we got is free and a great opportunity for the club to maintain some financial stability and put more resources towards summer 7's
Again, spring practice starts next Thursday, Feb 7th, 7pm...lets start the season off right!
Everyone is invited...come on out and join us...no experience needed. Come see what rugby is all about...
